Area Rug Cleaning in Salt Lake City Utah

area rug cleaning SLC’s Carpet Care takes care of rugs from all corners of the globe, from the finest to the most basic. For maximum soil and spot removal, our 10 Step Cleaning Process will be applied. While most Area Rugs and Oriental Rugs can be cleaned in your home, there are some that require us to pick them up and bring them to our shop for cleaning. Either way, you will receive the following 10 steps:
During the pre-inspection and pick up, we will determine as much as we can about the type of rug and intrinsic qualities that may affect its cleaning. A cleaning “prescription” will be presented. The rug will then be cleaned either on site, or we will ask to take it with us. See more about best.
The second step is to remove dry soil from the rug. Woven rugs, especially hand knotted rugs, are designed to conceal dry soil. According to a study done by Eureka, a 9 x 12 can hide 87 pounds of dirt. Stunning! In order to dust the rugs, we use a variety of techniques. (Rug backs can only be cleaned if you take them back to the shop with you.)
The rug is then pre-treated to emulsify soils according to its fiber content and soiling type.
A special solution will be used to pre-treat any spots and fringes that may be difficult to remove. We also pre-treat the fringe for maximum soil removal, but the fringe cannot be completely cleaned unless we return the rugs to our shop.
Depending on the fiber content and soiling type, the rug will be pre-treated with shampoo to emulsify the soils. Most Oriental rugs are cleaned with Oriental Rug Shampoo, which is specially formulated to get maximum cleaning while protecting natural fibers.
Step 6: Rinse or Wash Depending on the type of rug, it will be rinsed both sides using extraction equipment or cleaned in a wash pit designed specifically for Oriental Rugs.
Step 7: Speed Dry Once the soil has been removed, the rug is either laid flat or hung to dry in a controlled environment. The rug must be dried properly to prevent unnatural shrinkage.
8: Finishing Once the rug has dried, it is combed and finished with soft groomers designed for specialty rugs.

A final inspection will be carried out by our cleaning specialist after the rug has been cleaned. Any items we weren’t able to get out will be noted, and the client will be notified upon delivery.
The rug will be wrapped in brown paper to protect it from the elements. When the rug has been taken to our shop, the customer will be notified when it is ready for pick-up/delivery.
